July: Dry Eyes

Picture
Do your eyes often sting, feel sensitive to light, bad vision at night, get red and have blurry vision?  Did you know that all of these symptoms are associated with dry eyes?  Dry eyes are a result of your eyes not producing enough tears.  Sometimes certain medications can cause your dry eyes. Severe dry eyes if left untreated can cause complications.  Some of the complications include: increased infections, discomfort and damage to the surface of your eyes.  Dry eyes can also make it extremely uncomfortable to wear contact lenses.
There are several treatment options that include: eye drops, punctal plugs, supplements and more.  Dry eyes can be made worse during super dry weather.
