Contact  Lenses

Contact  Lenses

One of the many aspects of contact lenses is the fitting process.  Contact lens fittings are generally done during your annual eye exam.  If you decide after your eye exam that you would like to be fit for contact lenses, a separate fitting appointment can be made but should be done within  3 months of your original exam date to ensure that your prescription has not changed. During the fitting process Dr. Humpherys makes measurements to ensure optimal comfort and vision.

Based on the measurements a contact lens will be fit to the patients eyes, The visual acuity and  fit is then checked. After the final contact lens trial is placed on the patients eyes, a wearing schedule is reviewed and any follow up appointments that are needed are scheduled.

Soft Contacts

Soft contact lenses come in an array of options to meet all of your optical needs.  Have an astigmatism? Newer contact lens technology can now correct your astigmatism with a toric contact lens.  Soft contact lenses are made of a material that allows oxygen to reach the cornea for maximum comfort.

Colored Contacts

Have you ever wanted to see what it would be like to have a different eye color?  Well now you can!!!  Available for patients with all array of eye conditions and in an array of colors the possibilities are endless!  Even if you don't require vision correction you can be fit for colored lenses!!! A fitting is required to ensure the proper fit and it is against the law to dispense without a fitting!  We also can order cosmetic lenses for Halloween as well!!!

Bifocal Contact lenses

Patients that struggle with their near vision as well as their distance vision now have more options than ever with multifocal contact lens technology.  Bifocal contact lenses have two prescriptions in the same lens with a wide array of powers.

Gas Permeable Contacts

Gas Permeable contact lenses are a great option for patients with certain corneal conditions.  Gas permeable are intended for long time use and require a more in depth fitting and evaluation during your yearly comprehensive eye exam.

If you wear this type of lens or are interested please let a staff member know when scheduling your exam.
